Dr Virginie Provençal obtained her dental degree at the University of Montreal in 2012 in which she was awarded for her excellent academic performance. After completing her degree, she has undertaken a one-year general practice residency program at the Notre-Dame hospital as well as the Ste-Justine hospital, where she was treating medically compromised patients.

After her residency, she did a 3-years dental speciality in Orthodontics while completing her Master in Sciences at the University of Manitoba. She has obtained an award, The Fellowship Award of the Faculty of Graduate studies, 2 years in a row (in 2014 and 2015) while she was studying there. This award was to acknowledge her excellent grades and her leadership. Dre Provençal has also had the opportunity to present her master research at the Canadian Association of Orthodontics Convention in 2016.

Finally, in 2017, Dr Virginie Provençal is received as a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr Provençal is an active member of the Ordre des Dentistes du Québec, the Canadian Association of the Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists as well as the Fédération des Dentistes Spécialistes du Québec. Virginie is also a part-time teacher at the Faculty of Dentistry in Orthodontics at the University of Manitoba since December 2017.

On a personal level, Dr Provençal has two great passions: sports and travels. She loves running and she has completed 3 marathons (Montréal’s Marathon, Banff’s Marathon and Winnipeg’s Marathon). She has backpacked 12 different countries so far and more to come.
